As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Mark holds the prestigious CFP® certification, one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning.
In addition to comprehensive financial planning, Mark provides specialized knowledge in retirement income planning and life transitions planning. He strives to help his clients reduce the pressure associated with the required decision-making during significant life events.
“Watching my parents go through financially hard times as a child was my chief motivation for entering the financial services industry,” Mark said. “I want to help people identify, track and achieve their financial goals, and hopefully allow them to feel less stress in the management of their money.”
Mark began his career as an account executive with WEEI Sports Radio in Boston from 1981 to 1992. Opportunity knocked and Mark became a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, where he worked until 2017 when he joined Raymond James. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Guilford College in North Carolina.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® (with plaque design) and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
My mother always told me to be on time, and I have made promptness a priority ever since. It’s interesting that in my financial planning position, I am helping people “be on time” for retirement.
I have a witty, creative side as well. I’ve won awards for writing commercials, and I often thought my dream job would be master of ceremonies at a roast. My creative side is probably why I would also like to learn more about photography.
I am originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, and now live in Northborough with my wife, Faye. On the weekend or after a hard day’s work, we enjoy having a glass of wine on the dock at Richmond Pond.
In my free time, I also enjoy playing golf and spending time at the family lake house in the Berkshires. In the past, I enjoyed serving as president of the Rotary Club of Northborough.
We have two children, David and Amy. I am very proud to have my son, David, working alongside me as a partner in my practice.
